It's the small things

Our mental health and overall wellness are highly influenced by the small things we do to care for our wellbeing. These small things may not seem like much in the moment, but over time they can make a positive difference in building our resilience and improving our quality of life.

Think of a bank account: small deposits can really add up over time. So, too, can our daily practices.

Things you can do to take care of you

  • Take a lunch break
  • Spend time outdoors
  • Meditate for 5 minutes
  • Take up a hobby
  • Chat with a friend
  • Listen to a playlist you love
  • Spend time with a pet
  • De-clutter your space
  • Play a board game
  • Get at least 7 hours of sleep each night
  • Read just for fun
  • Limit caffeine after 2 pm
  • Give someone a compliment
  • Limit screen use at bedtime
  • Keep a gratitude journal
  • Make time for a quick workout
  • Don’t participate in gossip
