Sustainability

We strive to incorporate sustainability into every part of our institution. It’s a key organizational value and is a strategic priority. Sustainability guides how we design, construct and operate our buildings; how we manage resources; and how we provide a safe, healthy, equitable environment in which to work and learn.

To date, the College has made significant advancements in sustainability including:

  • Reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 43% since 2008
  • Partnering in the Open Pedagogy UN SDG Fellowship program
  • Signing the SDG Accord
  • Becoming gold certified in AASHE STARS
  • Implementing NSCC’s Climate Change Action Plan

At NSCC, we take a comprehensive approach to sustainable development. We integrate these goals into our institution's framework, ensuring they are reflected in our Annual Sustainability Report and Climate Change Action Plan. This comprehensive strategy ensures that we are actively promoting sustainability and positively impacting the environment.
