Collide Discover

Free program to explore entrepreneurship and innovation

Collide Discover is a 7-week virtual program (1.5 hours per week) that gives students and recent grads a hands-on introduction to launching ideas and solving real-world challenges.

Offered in partnership with Dal Innovates, the program helps you grow your confidence, think creatively, and take meaningful steps toward building a product, service or social initiative.

Eligibility

  • Current students at any university or college in Atlantic Canada (all programs welcome)
  • Alumni applicants must have graduated from NSCC in the past 5 years (2020 - present)
  • Able to attend at least 6 of 7 sessions
  • Curious about entrepreneurship or innovation
  • Have an idea you want to explore (even in early stages)

Program details

Each session includes interactive workshops, guest speakers and practical tools to help you develop key entrepreneurial skills, including:

  • Design thinking – Solve problems with a user-first approach
  • Reframing challenges – Unlock creative, new solutions
  • Business model canvas – Plan your project for real-world success
  • Understanding your customer – Identify real needs
  • Pitching your idea – Communicate with confidence and clarity

You also connect with supportive peers and mentors. Optional take-home content (up to 3 hours/week) is available to further enhance your learning.

Complete at least 6 of the 7 sessions to earn a certificate of completion and become eligible for Collide Validate (Winter 2026).

  • Time: Wednesdays, 5:30 – 7:00 PM (Atlantic)
