President's Holiday Message
Date: Dec. 16, 2022
Good morning,
It’s that time of year… when visions of a rest from studies and work, and quality time with family and friends fill our heads.
The wonder of the season offers us a chance to enjoy a healthy blend of holiday cheer and some quiet time. As president, the wonder I feel year-round for the transformational strides our students make daily towards a positive future, supported by employees each step of the way, is the gift that keeps on giving. My thanks to you all!
In 2022, we saw a return to more in person events, like Convocation and Open House, bringing back that important feeling of connection that makes such a difference in our personal well-being. I am so appreciative of the care everyone has taken to keep one another other safe throughout the year. While this is a time of year filled with delights, it can also bring with it pressures and challenges. I am thankful for the supports available to students and employees should we need them.
To bring a little fun to kick off the festive season, I am sharing a video involving some creative friends. We worked with NSCC Alumni to bring together the band Good Dear Good (formed by ‘17-‘18 Music Arts grads), current Ivany Campus Music Arts program students, and ASL Interpreter Starla Predham (Deaf Studies '20, ASL/English Interpretation '22) – with the generous support of faculty.
Please stay safe and healthy and take time to relax and enjoy the holiday break … in the many beautiful ways this time of year is celebrated.
With gratitude,
Don
