Assist Operations Manager with the following duties during peak tourism season:
• Operational Duties: Aiding and training with the operations manager to learn day to day management of Nalu Retreat with regards to operational systems, management, specialized equipment and processes for day-to-day functioning
• Booking and Coordination: Learn the management of bookings across multiple platforms (Lodgify, Expedia, Airbnb, Hipcamp), including pricing updates, reservation management, massage booking, schedule coordination, gift certificate processing, and damage deposit collection.
• Guest Services & Communications: Monitoring and responding to emails, and handling inquiries as well as guest check-in and establishment communication channels with guests to address their needs and inquiries.
• Sales & Marketing: Aid Operations Manager with booking clients based on inquiries and upsell them based on customer interest and needs.
• Website & social media: Learn website maintenance and oversee content creation with the digital marketing team to streamline relevant information • Inventory Management: Overseeing food inventory, including ordering, receiving deliveries, stocking, and maintaining inventory lists.
• Participation: Aid in sharing ideas on streamlining based on learning
• Community Engagement and Community Connections: Aid in creating new and innovative ways to increase community engagement and increase visibility and sales.
Strong Problem-solving skills: Work with staff and customers to solve challenges with tact and ease.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication abilities to effectively convey ideas and results.
Work Well Independently: Thrive in planning and executing tasks with minimal supervision, showing initiative and the ability to find and leverage information independently. Self-Directed
Research: Exhibit strong research skills, capable of navigating challenges and uncovering insights without direct guidance.
Educational Background: Enrollment at a designated Canadian educational institution, open to any field of study with a demonstrated strong understanding of business development and tourism.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to analyze performance data and translate findings into actionable strategies.
Eligibility: Must be enrolled at a designated Canadian educational institution. Location: Onsite (located in Porter’s Lake). Must have own vehicle. Business and/or Business Tourism student are applicable. Willing to look at different candidates if they meet the skills requirements.
Duration: 12-16 weeks with opportunity to get hired Hours: Part-time or full-time depending on term length, candidate experience, and funding availability. Hours will vary due to peak travel season in Nova Social (June, July & August peak seasons)
Compensation: $20 per hour with opportunity for permanent position in the future.
