About the Position

Eastern Signs & Traffic Supply, part of The Municipal Group of Companies, produces a complete line of regulatory and construction signage for use in Atlantic Canada and beyond. This includes aluminum signs, placards, and custom signage for interior or exterior use, as well as a large inventory of necessary hardware for display and installation. Eastern Signs is currently seeking a Production Assistant to support our operations during the spring/summer 2025 season based out of Bedford, NS.

 

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, they will assist in the installation and production of signs, vinyl graphics (vehicles, windows, walls, etc.) and other products at our facility and on-site.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform tasks and functions associated with vinyl signage, vehicle decaling and packaging of final products.
  • Perform tasks related to woodworking. I.E Using a panel saw to cut 4’x8’ sheets of wood down into usable sign blanks.
  • Perform interior and exterior details of vehicles.
  • Maintain equipment related to primary duties.
  • Any other duties as required.

Qualifications


Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience:

  • Previous sign and/or vinyl graphics application experience preferred.
  • Competent in the use of hand and portable power tools.
  • Reliable. (arrive to work on time and be ready to work every day)
  • Physically fit and able to lift loads up to 50lbs.
  • Clean, presentable appearance.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable with heights and be able to work on a ladder or bucket lift if required.
  • Able to multi-task, organize and prioritize work.
  • Effective time management skills. Keeps to deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean drivers abstract.
  • Reliable means of communication. (i.e., cell phone)
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently.

Co-op Position Eligibility Criteria:

To be considered for this co-op position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Enrollment Status: Must be a current NSCC student in good academic standing and returning to your program for classes in the Fall. Graduating students are not eligible for co-op.  

Academic Continuity: Must be returning to your current program for full-time study in the Fall 2025 Term.

International Students Permit Requirement: International students must possess a valid co-op work permit from the Government of Canada with no restrictions that would prevent them from engaging in the described co-op work.

Tuition Requirement: The co-op course is an elective first-year course in your program that occurs in the Spring/Summer semester. There is a tuition fee for this course.

Approval Requirement: All co-op experiences must be approved by your faculty or Academic Chair and sent to workexperience@nscc.ca?in order to receive credit towards your NSCC credential. Please check in with your Faculty Advisor before accepting any job offer.
