Student Research Assistant (January - April, Casual Part Time)
Reporting to the Research Project Community Coordinator, the Student Research Assistant supports the promotion, engagement, and recruitment of the WellNS Project: Nova Scotia’s Mental Wellness Survey. Through data collection, research, and community involvement, WellNS research team gathers insights to help create practical solutions and strategies to promote resilience, inclusivity, and mental wellness in Nova Scotia. We are hiring multiple candidates from different post secondary institutions across Nova Scotia. This is a casual part time role with a flexible schedule, and the time commitment will range between 0-10 hours a week.
The Student Research Assistant collaborates closely with the WellNS research project team, stakeholders, and the community to build relationships, distribute recruitment materials, and represent WellNS in community spaces to help drive a robust survey response that is inclusive of diverse voices.
To enhance the inclusivity and accessibility of the Nova Scotia Mental Wellness Survey, the WellNS research team has evolved the survey methodology beyond the traditional household mailout to include additional grassroots community engagement and mobilization activities and approaches.
The Student Research Assistant will collaborate closely with the WellNS research team to provide in the field implementation of grassroots community engagement activities. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the project's success by fostering community engagement, promoting cultural sensitivity, and representing WellNS in person in community spaces within the assigned territory.
