The opportunity:

The student will help large energy consumers save energy. EfficiencyOne embeds Energy Managers at large business and institutional sites with the objective of identifying-, executing- and managing- energy projects. Prioritizing energy management activities is done through facility energy benchmarking. The Energy Manager team is looking for a hardworking, motivated individual who is comfortable working autonomously to support energy benchmarking, facility energy modeling, and proposal writing efforts. As part of the Energy team, you will work with a talented and dedicated group of people to ensure that the service runs smoothly and meets its energy savings targets. This will include working with program participants, and internal staff.  

A snapshot of what you will be involved with:

  • Administer a portfolio of projects
  • Provide support to On-site Energy Managers
  • Review, and report on technical information
  • Support and conduct project verification
  • Incorporate new practices and ideas into the role
  • Research new and innovative technologies
  • Data entry and another program administration

Qualifications

What Will Help You Succeed?

  • Working towards a bachelor’s degree or diploma in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong analytical and superior time management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)

Co-op Position Eligibility Criteria: 

To be considered for this co-op position, applicants must meet the following criteria: 

  1. Enrollment Status: Must be a current NSCC student in good academic standing and returning to your program for classes in the Fall. Graduating students are not eligible for co-op 
  1. Academic Continuity: Must be returning to your current program for full-time study in the Fall Term. 
  1. Program Requirement: Must be enrolled in an eligible program that has a co-op course. See eligible programs here: https://www.nscc.ca/programs-and-courses/learning-experience/hands-on-learning/work-experience/co-op-programs.asp 
  1. International Students Permit Requirement: International students must possess a valid co-op work permit from the Government of Canada with no restrictions that would prevent them from engaging in the described co-op work. 
  1. Tuition Requirement: The co-op course is an elective first-year course in your program that occurs in the Spring/Summer semester. There is a tuition fee for this course. 
  1. Approval Requirement: All co-op experiences must be approved by your faculty or Academic Chair and sent to workexperience@nscc.ca in order to receive credit towards your NSCC credential. Please check in with your Faculty Advisor before accepting any job offer.
