Position Title: Videographer - Student (Summer 2025)

Location: Remote (WFH)/On-site as needed

Status: Co-op, Full-Time

Length of Work Term: Summer 2025, 16 weeks (May 5 – August 22)

Hours: 35 hours per week, around the core hours of 9am to 4pm AST

Position Summary:

We’re looking for a creative and self-motivated Videographer to join our team for the Summer of 2025. If you’re looking for an environment where your talents will be nurtured and your work will make a real impact, we’d love to have you join our team!

In this role, you will focus exclusively on content creation, with the objective of growing our social media following through engaging photography, videography, and video editing. You will be required to be on-site at client training sessions or events to capture key moments for promotional materials. This is a unique opportunity to take charge of our video content strategy and make a lasting impact on our digital presence.

 

 

Responsibilities:

As the Videographer, your primary focus will be on:

  • Content Creation: Produce high-quality videos and photos tailored for social media platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and YouTube.
  • Filming & Photography: Use the provided equipment (Canon camera or your phone) to capture engaging visuals that align with our branding and messaging.
  • Editing: Leverage our full Adobe Suite subscription (e.g., Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop) to edit recorded podcast episodes, videos and photos professionally.
  • Social Media Growth: Develop creative content designed to increase engagement and grow our follower base across platforms.
  • Collaborative Input: Work with our team to brainstorm and execute creative concepts for videos and photos.
  • Deliverables: Create polished video assets for campaigns, promotional materials, and regular social media updates.


Qualifications

 

  • Enrolled in a Screen Arts or related program (e.g., Film, Media Production, Digital Arts).
  • Proficiency in filming, photography, and video editing.
  • Experience with Adobe Suite tools.
  • Creative mindset with a strong eye for storytelling, composition, and aesthetics.
  • Familiarity with social media trends and platform-specific content formats.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver quality content on deadlines.

Co-op Position Eligibility Criteria:

To be considered for this co-op position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Enrollment Status: Must be a current NSCC student in good academic standing and returning to your program for classes in the Fall. Graduating students are not eligible for co-op.  

Academic Continuity: Must be returning to your current program for full-time study in the Fall Term.

International Students Permit Requirement: International students must possess a valid co-op work permit from the Government of Canada with no restrictions that would prevent them from engaging in the described co-op work.

Tuition Requirement: The co-op course is an elective first-year course in your program that occurs in the Spring/Summer semester. There is a tuition fee for this course.

Approval Requirement: All co-op experiences must be approved by your faculty or Academic Chair and sent to workexperience@nscc.ca in order to receive credit towards your NSCC credential. Please check in with your Faculty Advisor before accepting any job offer.
