Early Childhood Educator

About the Position

We're looking for a full-time ECE for our Hatchet Lake Center

Responsibilities

• Understands early childhood development and is able to provide an enriching program to enhance young children’s learning through a child lead, play-based, emergent curriculum, drawing heavily from the Nova Scotia Childcare Curriculum Framework (Capable, Confident, and Curious).

• Works both independently and collaboratively with center administration, co-workers, families and other participating members and partners.

• Plan and maintains an environment that protects the health, well-being, safety, and security of children.

• Practices a sensitive, caring, and individualized approach to teaching that meets the needs of each child in a variety of ways, considering aspects of a child’s life, family, culture, and how they learn.

• Uses teaching practices that help meet the emotional, social, and physical needs of the children.

Qualifications

• ECE Level 1, 2, or 3 classifications or Unleveled
• Clear Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
• Clear Child Abuse Registry Check
• Valid First Aid & CPR, Level C  

PLEASE NOTE:

Hatchet Lake, Tantallon, East Hants, Elmwood and Waverley locations require educators to have access to their own transportation.

No public transit goes to these sites.
