About the Position

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Baker to join our team. MUST live in or near Margaree, NS OR be willing to relocate.

In this role, you will support the daily operations of our bakery, ensuring that our products are prepared, baked, and presented to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and customer service, contributing to a positive experience for our customers.

Responsibilities:

• preparation of various baked goods, including bread, pastries, and cakes.
• Follow recipes and instructions to ensure consistency and quality in all products.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety standards.
• Package finished products for display and sale, ensuring they are visually appealing.
• Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers and assisting them with their selections.
• Support cake decorating efforts by learning techniques and assisting in the decoration process.
• Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages to management.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.  

Qualifications

Culinary or bakery certificate and strong desire to learn!

Skills:

• Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
• Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations.
• Experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred but not required.
• Basic food preparation skills, including baking techniques.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Attention to detail, particularly in food presentation and packaging.
• Willingness to learn cake decorating techniques is a plus.
