Overview
This 15-hour course equips you with essential electrical safety skills for working near power lines. You’ll learn industry-standard safe work practices, including how to recognize live equipment hazards and respond to electrical accidents. Designed for people who work near power lines, like arborists and construction workers, this course teaches you to:
- Conduct a hazard assessment to identify potential risks around powerlines.
- Follow safety protocols based on specific work situations.
- Manage the risks of powerline contact in accordance with safety regulations and utility company guidelines.
- Explain emergency response and rescue procedures for electrical contact or accidents.

Credential
Microcredentials can be taken as a stand-alone Module or as a series of modules to complete a Certificate. The Powerline Awareness microcredential is a Module.
