As 2024 draws to a close, we reflect on the amazing accomplishments we’ve witnessed this year.

Highlights include:

• Opening the beautiful, new Sydney Waterfront Campus
• Adding two student housing facilities, providing 150 new spaces for students to live
• Welcoming thousands of bright new learners this fall, already well on their way in their learning journeys.

These momentous accomplishments - and more - were all made possible by incredible efforts made by our College community.

As accessibility is a key priority to the College and because we are the only College east of Ontario that provides American Sign Language (ASL) Studies and ASL/English Interpretation training, we thought this year it would be meaningful to share the gift of learning through the teaching of a few seasonal signs in ASL:

• Winter, snow
• Peace
• Happy holidays

A special thank you to Dr. Beverly Buchanan, Manager ASL and ASL/English Interpretation programming, along with ASL Studies student Cedric Murray and ASL/English Interpretation student Emma McNeilly for their special role in joining NSCC President Don Bureaux for our 2024 holiday message.
