Admiral donation to uplift and support women pursuing careers in trades and technology at NSCC
Apr. 25, 2023 – Media Release
Halifax, NS -- Today at NSCC’s Institute of Technology Campus, Admiral announced its three-year commitment to support the Women Unlimited Program (WU) at NSCC. The donation will provide wrap-around supports for WU participants and women pursuing Trades and Technology (T&T) programs at the College.
The generous three-year commitment from Admiral will establish the Admiral Women Unlimited Bursary and the Women Unlimited Urgent Aid Fund, which will support educational costs, cost of living expenses and emergency financial support to WU participants and women in T&T programs at the College. Through this collaboration with the Women Unlimited program at NSCC, Admiral is helping to remove financial barriers for women as they pursue careers in the T&T field.
“We’re so excited to partner with Women Unlimited to support more women and gender-diverse people to build fulfilling and sustainable careers in the Trades and Technology field. Removing financial barriers can have an enormous effect on completing your education, so we’re proud to support the excellent work that Women Unlimited do. We can’t wait to see how this impacts the community's growth.” – Rebecca Cable, Admiral Canada Site Director
“Admiral’s commitment will have an incredible impact on WU participants,” said Vivian Dixon, Program Director, Women Unlimited. “Access to bursaries and emergency financial support for women entering the trades and technology field is critical to removing the barriers they face in pursuit of their careers. We appreciate their support and look forward to the change it’ll bring.”

Since 2006, Women Unlimited has supported close to 1,000 diverse unemployed and/or underemployed women from across the province to build sustainable careers in T&T.
