Salty Rose's and the Periwinkle Cafe (@periwinklecafe) on the famous Cabot Trail in gorgeous Ingonish is a bustling locally sourced cafe as well as jewelry studio, art & craft shop and inn. We will be entering our 9th (!) season on June 1st and are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate people to fill the role of COOK(s) in our small but mighty kitchen team. Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Fulfilling breakfast, lunch and sometimes evening orders on the line of a busy cafe (regular hours of operation 9 am - 5 pm)
-Food preparation: following recipes and preparing/portioning food needed for each day.
-Daily set up and stocking. Monitoring stock and informing management when levels are low.
-Maintaining a clean, safe and organized workspace.
-Routine cleaning of equipment and shut down of the cafe.
-Working in a fast-paced environment.
-A love for food and an understanding of the importance of the local food movement.
-Basic kitchen skills such as knife skills and the ability to follow recipes.
-Ability to multi-task.
-Willing to learn and grow with their team.
