Course overview

Assuming some level of expertise in an engineering or technology area, the course provides participants a context of application specifically in marine and shipbuilding/ design/ repair environments. Content will cover general concepts about shipbuilding including historic background and trends in shipbuilding in Nova Scotia, elements of ship construction, safety and quality aspects, organizational structure, and an introduction to some of the unique methods, technologies, tools and techniques used in this dynamic workplace.

Pre-requisite: High School Graduation Diploma or equivalent.
