About the Position

Some of the Human Resources responsibilities and projects will be to update job descriptions, performance review process, on-boarding process and organizational policies. Schedule and identify training opportunities for staff to align with succession planning. Support the organization as we transition through a period of change and a large number of retirements.

Qualifications

The successful candidate would be a relatively new graduate from the NSCC Human Resouces Program. Working with a team of roughly 50 staff.

  • Multi-tasker and willingness to take on new projects.
  • Experience working or volunteering in a non-profit environment or working with persons with disabilities would be an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in policy development and implementation.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and must ensure that confidentiality is maintained when managing employee and participant information.

Key Responsibilities:

The Human Resources Advisor would work with the Executive Director and Management Team to update and implement policy changes to align with the growing organization. A Human Resource position would develop our orientation process for new hires which would help us create a more inclusive work place.

  • Organize and schedule staff training to identify future opportunities and succession planning.
  • Create a staff skills inventory to help expand on programs offered to participants both in house and on our wait list.
  • Review and update our performance review process to better align with current work culture.
  • Review and update existing Human Resource policies.
  • Identify a schedule of staff for programming and maintain a relief staff inventory.
  • Support the organization in a Human Resource capacity through ongoing change and growth in the community.
