Melville Lodge is currently accepting applications for two full-time Physiotherapy Assistant position. This is a contracted position. The PTA will:
- Assist and implement therapy programs that would allow residents to realize their maximum potential.
-The PTA will work in relation to residents’ care issues and care plans that pertain to Occupational/ Physiotherapy Program.
-Working with the Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist, the PTA will fully support and assist the Therapeutic Services at Melville Lodge.
Regular attendance in current and previous employment
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: $24.20 per hour
Schedule: Day shift
Ability to commute/relocate: Halifax, NS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Work Location: In person
1. Graduate of Occupational and/or Physiotherapy Assistant course with certificate
2. Minimum 2 years previous experience
3. Previous experience in long term care an asset
4. A commitment to resident centered care
5. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
6. Alzheimer Disease and related Dementia, CPR and First Aid courses would be assets
7. Competency using computers including internet, email and Microsoft office
