Industrial Mechanic

About the Position

Agropur, a leading manufacturer of ice cream, novelties and mochi in Canada, is accepting applications for an Industrial Mechanic at our production facility located at 85 Blakeney Drive, Truro, Nova Scotia.

What the Industrial Mechanic role is about:

• Work in the production facility responding to equipment breakdowns
• Troubleshoot and performing preventative maintenance
• Overall support of production lines to optimize time
• Use of CMMS for completing assigned and unplanned work
• Support the shift power engineer with operation and maintenance of the ammonia refrigeration system, boiler, air compressors, HVAC etc.
• Strong understanding and commitment to occupational health and safety including LOTO, arc flash, working at heights, and confined spaces, etc.
• Rotating shifts, 12 hours or 8 hours as needed
• Starting pay at $34.57 per hour

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Red Seal Industrial Mechanic license
• Troubleshooting skills in an industrial environment
• Experience with industrial manufacturing equipment, pneumatics/controls
• Capable of working in a fast-paced team oriented processing and manufacturing environment working rotating shifts with occasional overtime, weekend work and on-call duties.
• Other relevant mechanical trade/background may be considered
• Opportunity to acquire 2nd Class Refrigeration Plant Operator License (Agropur supported)
• Opportunity to acquire 4th Class Power Engineering License (Agropur supported)
