An affiliate of the Airbus Group of Companies, STELIA is an aerospace and defence company specializing in the design, development, and manufacturing of composite components and assemblies.

Headquartered in Lunenburg, NS, and with a site in Mirabel, QC, we operate more than 150,000 sq feet of facilities dedicated to operations, manufacturing and administration. 

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Assembly or assembling simple to complex composites, components and structural parts for production and development.   The Assembly Technician embraces a culture defined by safety, quality, teamwork, and accountability. 

In this role, you will:

  • Assemble, fit, and install composite components, prefabricated parts, metal details and/or sub-assemblies to build simple to complex and/or structural assemblies per specific work instructions and customer specifications. 
  • Assembling includes (but not limited to): hand measuring, drilling, countersinking, reaming, riveting, installing solid and mechanically locking fasteners, etc. 
  • Mix and apply bonding adhesives and sealants. Repair simple to complex assemblies per specific work instructions and customer specifications. 
  • Perform self-quality checks. Identify nonconforming parts, conditions, and manufacturing processes. 
  • Record results (e.g., production and inspection) per work instructions where required. 
  • Meet schedule and production requirements. 
  • Propose improvement to manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

You have:

  • Grade 12 diploma (or equivalent experience)
  • 1 year experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Organized individual with high attention to detail, self-motivated and a quick learner.
  • Manual dexterity/coordination with the ability to use of power tools, cutting tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions and/or blueprints while following demonstrated steps.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Physical demands include lifting and moving material weighing up to 50lbs and wearing a respirator and other protective equipment.
