About the Position

Webber’s is a rural café, general store and laundromat re-opening this summer in Lake Charlotte, on Nova Scotia’s majestic Eastern Shore.  We take the responsibility as purveyors of Eastern Shore hospitality seriously and as such, we are known for our great food, products and vibe.  We are located at 11470 Highway 7.

Our baker cook creates our daily café menu. We are seeking skilled individuals to join our team to run our café kitchen with typical duties that include:

  • learning, retaining and creating seasonal recipes and preparing menu items from scratch
  • managing our baking and cooking schedule
  • consistently plating all products including new items according to standards
  • developing and completing a prep list for the day that prioritizes the correct items leading to an efficient workflow and product availability for the week
  • monitoring café inventory to mitigate challenges to creating our menu 
  • completing all daily, weekly and deep cleaning tasks with a great attitude.

  • Working calmly with urgency and care – baker cooks address each order immediately, serve all dishes within the expected time and track tickets carefully using proper methods. Baker cooks utilize their daily prep list as an efficiency tool.

  • minimum availability requirements: three shifts weekly including weekend and early morning shifts; our business is open to customers from 6 a.m. - 9 p.m.

  • a food handling certificate
  • professional kitchen / baking experience or training
  • criminal background check

The baker cook is an hourly position with a starting hourly base pay of $18.00 plus tips, perks and merit-based opportunities for compensation increase.
