Campus housing admissions process

NSCC's campus housing admission process considers several factors when offering a space in campus housing to students and assigning rooms, roommates or suitemates.

NSCC campus housing strives to create an accessible admission process, which includes reassigning spaces and offers as necessary, in addition to directly allocating spaces and reducing barriers for equity deserving students.

Considerations include:

  • holding space offers,
  • adjusting deposit and payment timelines and
  • reassigning spaces as deemed necessary.

How to apply

Campus housing applications open on March 4. To apply for campus housing, follow the steps outlined below.

Review information

Visit the specific campus housing page to review information on location, amenities and general cost.

Apply

Click on the apply now button and sign in using your NSCC username (w# + @campus.nscc.ca) and password. If you need help with your login or password, please click on trouble signing in.

If you have not logged in to our student awards portal before, you will be asked to complete the general application. You will then be prompted to complete the application questions associated with your selected campus housing location.

Campus housing offers

As mentioned in the admissions process, there are detailed considerations when offering a space in housing.

Considerations may include:

  • Date of application – generally the earlier you apply the better.
  • Academic admission status - only students who have confirmed their seat at NSCC will be able to apply for and be offered campus housing.
  • Enrollment – priority is given to students enrolled at the specific campus location.
  • Accessibility requirements – students must indicate any special considerations on their application. NSCC campus housing will follow up with the student directly to obtain details.
  • Room style preference - will be offered where there are options available.
  • Gender identity and student lifestyle preferences – roommate or suitemate preferences will be considered where applicable.

It’s important to be honest in your application about your living preferences. Not being honest can lead you to being placed in a housing environment that does not support your success.

When you receive an offer, it’s important to review the details which will include the next steps you will have to take to confirm the space, deadlines, and any other essential information.

Campus housing waitlist

Students who qualify for campus housing but do not receive an offer are automatically added to the waitlist. Our waitlist is actively managed, and we send offers on a rolling basis.

We do not provide students with a waitlist number as students are offered housing according to the spaces that become available and according to the living preferences identified on their application.

Campus housing agreement

We're committed to offering safe, respectful campus housing communities. By accepting a spot to live on campus, you will be asked to agree to the terms outlined in the campus housing agreement. You will be asked to complete this agreement and upload it into the student awards portal. Review the 2024/2025 Campus Housing Agreement (PDF 4.43MB).
