Kayla Giles' Story
The four weeks I spent in Croatia were amazing. It was my first time traveling on my own without my family to a new place, and I think I grew and learned a lot. I wanted to participate in this program to take the Cybersecurity course, since I want to begin a career in this field.
My professor Robert Petrunic was an amazing teacher, and I learned so much from him. I am confident with what I've learned, that I can now start on the path of Cybersecurity. I also took the Croatian Language and Culture course, which was really fun and rewarding. I love the Croatian language, and I learned a lot from this class and my teacher, Tihaana Banko.
Aside from school, I also explored all over Croatia! When we were leaving Zagreb to visit Zadar, my friends and I traveled to Split and Dubrovnik for the weekend. The castles in Croatia are beautiful, and I got to take in some views I never imagined I would be able to experience! When we were in Zadar for the week, I got to see the sea organ, which sounded really cool and eerie. In our final week, we returned to Zagreb, and I cherished my last days in Croatia.
I had a wonderful experience, taking trams every time I went to school and being able to walk wherever I wanted to go. I'm very satisfied with this program, and I would recommend anyone to take this program and experience Croatia for themselves.
