Information for graduates

1. Prepare to graduate

  • Apply to graduate
    Check your student email for the intent to graduate form. You must fill out the form to graduate and to attend Convocation.

  • Verify your name
    Login to your MyNSCC profile to make sure your name appears correctly on your credential, transcript and in the official Convocation program. If you need to make an update, contact your Student Services team as soon as possible.

  • Find your ceremony
    Convocation ceremonies take place across the province in June.

  • Need support?
    Please connect with your Student Services team if you need assistance or require special arrangements crossing the raised stage.

2. Attend Convocation

  • Get there early
    Arrive at your ceremony at least one hour before it starts. Parking can also be limited, so give yourself extra time.

  • Go to the gown room
    This is where you'll find your graduation gown and academic stole representing your credential to wear during your ceremony. Learn about Convocation attire and exceptions

  • Line up
    You'll be arranged by program to get ready for the Academic Procession before the ceremony begins. You’ll be given a small card with your name on it. Please keep this card with you. The speaker will use the card to announce you as you receive your credential.

  • Graduate
    You officially graduate from your program and receive your credential during your Convocation ceremony.

  • Celebrate! Congratulations, you did it!
    After the ceremony, you and your supporters are invited to the NSCC Alumni Reception. Enjoy some refreshments, take pictures and enjoy some time to celebrate your success. A professional photographer will be available for free at the Alumni Photo Booth.

  • Can’t make it to your ceremony?
    Let us know. We’ll make sure you receive your credential in the mail. Contact Student Services to confirm your mailing address.

  • Frame your credential
    Purchase an official NSCC frame for your credential. Reach out directly to your campus bookstore or email
