Spring 2023 Update

Starting off strong

The new year is off to a great start, and as we jump into spring, we’re excited to share more inspiring stories and updates with you!

In this update, we share with you the successful cheesecake raffle by the Byers family for the award they established in memory of their father, an impact update on the Indigenous Student Support Program, how donor funding is supporting Black and African Nova Scotian students at NSCC and an IT job fair and marine skills competition and career fair for students.

Cheesecakes for Carpentry: Richard Byers Memorial Bursary During the holiday season, the Byers family hosted a nostalgic cheesecake raffle to fundraise for the Richard Byers Memorial Bursary, an award they established in their dad’s memory to support Carpentry students at NSCC.

Career fairs and skill building for NSCC Information Technology and Marine students NSCC hosted two events in March at the College's Institute of Technology (IT) Campus and Strait Area Campus Nautical Institute to help students prepare for the next steps in their careers.
