Giving Tuesday 2023 – Thank you for giving back
Exceeding our goals
On November 28, Giving Tuesday, our community rallied together to raise funds for Rapid Response, funding cost of living bursaries and food security initiatives at NSCC.
Through your collective support on Giving Tuesday, you raised $15,500 alongside the J & W Murphy Foundation’s generous $10,000 donation match. That’s a grand total of $25,500 for students and we are incredibly grateful. As NSCC donors, employees, alumni and community members, you should feel proud of the difference you’re making for NSCC students.
Impact of Rapid Response
By giving to Rapid Response, you help address the immediate and emerging needs of NSCC students. With rising costs of living and the changing needs of students, flexible programs like Rapid Response are essential. Donations last year allowed NSCC to disburse more cost of living bursaries, provide emergency relief bursaries to those impacted by Hurricane Fiona, and directly support Indigenous students and Black and African Nova Scotian students.
They help students like Mitchell Langford, a recipient of a Black and African Nova Scotian Cost of Living Bursary, which helped put gas in his car and groceries on the table while on a tight budget. “It's helped tremendously. It's a bit of relief, now I can breathe and come back to level ground," said Mitchell.
Thank you
Your generosity means the world to us as you continue to motivate students to excel in their chosen programs and future careers.
