Course overview
This course is intended for mariners serving on vessels operating in all sea areas (GMDSS A1, A2, A3 and A4 Sea Areas). The GOC is compliant with the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978, as amended (STCW 95 Regulation IV/2). Students will practice the use of communications devices on the functional equivalent of industry standard equipment. It is comprised of a mix of theory delivered by lecture, user skills delivered by demonstration and hands on skill-building exercises. The material presented in this course covers the scope of the training and assessment requirements for the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System - General Operator Certificate (GMDSS-GOC).
Condition: A 1” x 1 ¼” photo with signature on back will be required for issuance/reissuance or replacement of certificate. Candidates must be 18 years or older.
