Development and Piloting of Two Green and Blue Skills Courses
Project/Initiative
The "Skills for the Future" initiative, developed by the Government of Belize, aims to bridge the skills gap and prepare the local workforce for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4iR). Green and blue skills are essential to the 4iR and at the same time enhance the national climate resilience.
The new Skills for the Future Program will build on the success of recent initiatives by developing two green and blue skill courses. The two new offerings will include a one-year full-time Electronic Engineering course and a one-year part-time Geographic Information Systems (GIS) course. These courses will be offered at Belize City ITVET and Orange Walk ITVET.
Throughout this consultancy NSCC will assist the two ITVETs with capacity enhancement of local instructors as well as with the development of all relevant learning materials. This program aims to establish the two ITVETs as leading green and blue skills centers in the region.
