Mariam Msita's Story

Mariam Msita teaches Motor Vehicle Mechanics in Tanzania

One of my proudest moments was on July 22, 2023, when the Minister of Education in Tanzania, Prof. Adolf Mkenda, recognized my work during the launch of the Defense and Security Guide at the Folk Development College. He called me to the stage, held my hand, and praised me in front of the invited guests, saying, “Mariam is the only woman teaching motor vehicle mechanics at the Mto wa Mbu College, and I congratulate her very much.” That day was incredibly special to me. The ESP project in Tanzania brought me this recognition, and I felt deeply honored

Another milestone in my life was receiving an invitation from our Canadian friends to visit their country. It was my first time traveling abroad and flying on a big plane, which was an unforgettable experience. During my visit, I learned many new things. I was impressed by how Canadians take care of the environment in their garages. They use special devices to direct car exhaust away safely, ensuring it doesn’t pollute the workspace. This was just one of the many valuable lessons I gained. And I was given the gift of a technical book that would further enhance my teaching abilities, creating a memory that will remain with me forever.

Mariam Msita at NSCC Akerley Campu Through the ESP project and the collaboration with our Canadian colleagues, I have acquired skills in teaching methods, adult education, curriculum development, and Digital marketing. These experiences have empowered me both academically and in life, and I am immensely grateful for the opportunities I have had
To all parents, I urge you to send your children to schools where they can receive skilled education that aligns with their talents. A child’s talent is the foundation of their success in life.
