David Coady's Story
I had the wonderful opportunity to be a part of the Global Energy Transition summer school program at Hanze University in Groningen, Netherlands. The three-week course focused on the transition to sustainable energy and away from fossil fuels with a focus on the sociological, economical, and legal factors involved. This all led up to a Dragon’s Den style presentation on how we can facilitate the energy transition. Outside of the class program we got to explore the Dutch culture around the city of Groningen, a field trip to Ameland on the North Sea, and a few bicycle tours of the area. This allowed us to get to know the locals and to learn more about the cultures of the other members of the program. After this journey I would like the chance to return to the Netherlands to further my education, to start my career, or even just to go back and visit the friends I have made.
