Ashia LeBlanc's Story
My name’s Ashia and I just came home from the Global Energy Transition program in the Netherlands. The program was about renewable energy systems and how they are being implemented worldwide.
Can’t say enough good about the program. It was well laid out and organized. The masterclasses were each quite interesting and though myself and my classmates came with a wide variety of backgrounds we never felt like the classes went over our heads even if they weren’t a topic we were familiar with. Add to that, the program approached the energy transition in a very realistic manner and encouraged discussion and debate of the topic which made it all the more engaging.
I was quite lucky with the group of people I met. With only nine of us in the program we got close fast and would often spend time together outside of classes. We each came from a variety of backgrounds giving us unique perspectives on the topic that we were able to share with each other even if we didn’t always agree.
I would recommend this program to anyone. Even if you’re not sure your education background fits, we had a variety from engineers to nursing students and every one of us found a way we could connect what we were learning to our past studies and our everyday lives.
