Allison Mosher's Story

Allison Mosher in Greece in 2024

The journey to Santorini was basically a smooth change despite the minor flight delay and a few grumbling students. I looked at it as more of an opportunity to people watch. We managed our time, ensuring that our Airbnb was left in order before heading to the airport. Travel often teaches us to be adaptable, especially when dealing with unforeseen delays.

Seeing many other islands from the plane was exciting, providing a geographical perspective of the region. These moments offer a glimpse into the interconnectedness of the world around us.

Arriving at the stunning Airbnb was a highlight, especially witnessing the students’ reactions to the beauty of the place. Experiencing such awe-inspiring environments can be transformative and enriching, sparking curiosity and appreciation for different cultures and landscapes.

Exploring the local (small) market not only provided essential supplies for dinner that night but also offered bits of the culture of Santorini. Immersing ourselves in the local community over the next few days will be a fantastic way to deepen the understanding and offer an appreciation for the culture.

Staying in such a picturesque place for the next few days undoubtedly presents numerous opportunities for learning and growth whether it’s through exploring the history and culture of Santorini or simply taking in the natural beauty of the Aegean Sea. Let’s hope the students soak up every minute of it.
Looking forward to our 4 days in Santorini!
