Welcome Ashley Power, NSCC Foundation and Alumni Relations new Executive Director
New leadership
The College and NSCC Foundation Board of Directors have announced that Ashley Power has been appointed as the Executive Director of NSCC Foundation and Alumni Relations.
With nearly 18 years of service at the College, Ashley has intermittently acted in the role of Executive Director over the past year. Her successful management of the Foundation and Alumni Relations’ priorities and her unique approach to relationship building positions her well for success in this crucial leadership role.
24 years of NSCC
Ashley’s NSCC connection started as a student in 2000. During her five years of studies at NSCC, Ashley was heavily involved with student leadership and was part of the core team who developed the first Student Association common constitution for NSCC.
Having completed Applied Communications Arts, Graphic Design, Radio Television Arts (now Radio Television Journalism) and Public Relations programs at NSCC, a path that was only made possible through student awards and bursaries, Ashley worked for several years in non-profit with Skills Canada-Nova Scotia leading both provincial and national events, along with program management and volunteer coordination. During this time as a proud alum in the non-profit sector, she remained keenly involved in the life of the College, participating in NSCC’s strategic planning, being an ambassador for the College, and a mentor to students.
A legacy of impact
Ashley returned to NSCC as an employee when she was hired to explore a new college-wide alumni program. Ashley developed and transformed that concept into the robust pan-provincial program it is today, connecting and embracing an alumni community of over 100,000 and raising over $1 million in contributions to the Alumni Engagement Fund. After her return, she also served as a staff representative on the NSCC Board of Governors.
Ashley’s approach to governance and community-building will bring even more possibilities for students, alumni, and partners to thrive. We are proud to have Ashley as a leader, continuing her incredible accomplishments that have a lasting impact on NSCC's community and beyond.
Congratulations, Ashley!
