September Updates
September has spoiled us with warmth and sunshine to end summer. As we move into fall, your Alumni Team is ready to help you get back into routine with some great offerings. This issue will also share a few upcoming dates for your calendar.
To celebrate National Literacy Month and our eNews reader, we’re giving away a Nova Scotia’s history book bundle! This giveaway closes at 1 pm on October 3, 2022, and the winner will be announced in next month’s eNews. For contest details and to enter, go to our Nova Scotia’s history book bundle form.
Are you a graduate from the class of 2021? There’s still time for you to complete the NSCC Graduate Survey and be entered to win the grand prize (approx. $600 in value), winner’s choice of a Dyson Vacuum or YETI prize pack. Look for an email, text or phone call invitation from Narrative Research, or use your student ID to complete the survey online (2021 grads only).
September 30 marks Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. All NSCC campuses will be closed on this day to honour the children who never returned home, survivors of residential schools, their families, and communities. Acknowledging this painful history and its ongoing impacts is essential to the reconciliation process. Learn more about truth and reconciliation, including the 94 calls to action from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
