So many individuals within our College community make a difference each day by helping support others. The past two years have helped us see even more clearly, the importance of building community through kindness. As we round out our 25th anniversary year (April 2021-April 2022), we want to celebrate by spreading a little joy in our communities through our NSCC Kindness Project on Friday, March 25.

By encouraging our community – including employees, students, alumni and supporters – to share some kindness on March 25, we hope to inspire so much more in the way of goodwill and positive thinking and showcase the collective power of our community. 

We’ve loved seeing all your photos as part of NSCC’s 25th Anniversary through our How It Started, How It’s Going social media campaign. Our last draw is happening this March 25. 

Are you a recent grad of NSCC and interested in starting and managing your own business? Grow your entrepreneurial skills with NSCC’s Start-up Accelerator program! The 30-week entrepreneurial program will help you learn about essential business skills like goal setting, financial forecasting, market research, developing and adapting business plans, and everything else you need to know to successfully launch your business. It’s also FREE to alumni accepted into the program with a flexible delivery schedule.

From Tuesday, March 29, to Friday, April 1, NSCC will be hosting our annual Virtual Open House. Join us or spread the word about the various sessions covering general information, along with focused areas of interest such as: Social and Community Support programs, IT and Data Analytics programs, Culinary and Tourism programs, Engineering Technology programs, Marine programs, and more. Riki Lee (Applied Media & Communication Arts ‘19) is featured in NSCC’s 2021 Report to Community for her new label design, that will be featured on books in campus libraries across the province to signify books regarding Indigenous culture. The new book spine label will make it easier for people searching for Indigenous books in the library by recognizing the unique north-facing turtle, with the shell segmented into four distinct quadrants of solid white, yellow, red and black.
