Land Acknowledgement

NSCC is located in Mi’kma’ki, the unceded territory and traditional homeland of the Mi’kmaq Nation. Our relationship is based on a series of peace and friendship treaties between the Mi’kmaq Nation and the Crown, dating back to 1725.

As Treaty beneficiaries, we recognize that we are all Treaty People.

Community garden grows West African vegetables for local physicians, fosters understanding and appreciation Community gardens, housed at NSCC’s Annapolis Valley Campus, are bringing a taste of home to the area for internationally trained family physicians that are settling in the community from Africa. The gardens grow West African vegetables, allowing doctors and their families to grow and source familiar produce that they may not be able to source locally.

NSCC numbers show more than 1,000 students attending new Sydney campus NSCC released its enrollment numbers last week, including its first count of students at the new Sydney Waterfront Campus. Officially, 1,003 students are taking classes at the campus this fall.

First class of Continuing Care assistants graduate from pilot training program The first graduates of the province’s new continuing care assistant (CCA) training program, in partnership with NSCC, have joined Nova Scotia’s healthcare workforce. Seventeen students recently completed the six-month program, launched earlier this year with the goal of getting more CCAs delivering quality care sooner.
